The Happiness Equation

What is happiness?

It’s a question that I’ve been thinking a lot about recently.

I’m not an unhappy person (most of the time), but as I’ve gotten older, or just had more life experiences, it’s become clear that many things that I thought would make me happy, don’t.

When I was in my early 20’s I had this goal of making X amount of money by the time I was 25. It was an ambitious goal that I thought would make me happy.

The Shame of Having a Nanny

Having a nanny is a total privilege and something that I don’t think my wife or I could do without. It’s also something that comes with a decent amount of shame at times for me personally.

But I have to say, none of the tips or things we thought about for our first nine flights top what I’m going to share with you. And it’s so obvious. So. Stinking. Obvious!

Dear Son: I Love Moments like This

Dear Son,

In just about one week you are going to be eight months old. It’s amazing how quickly time is passing by.

You’ve been mastering the army crawl for the last couple of weeks and as each day passes you’ve started to test your boundaries more and more. We knew you’d be crawling any day now, and you did exactly that earlier this week.

Watching you have these major milestones right before our eyes is amazing. It seems like each day you’re learning something new or testing out where you can crawl in our apartment. It used to be the the living room was your safe area, but you’ve left that idea in the dust at this point and have become quite the explorer.
