Your mom and I recently went to your 20-week checkup.
The purpose of this appointment, and ones before it, are to make sure you are growing as you should and that nothing is looking out of the sorts medically. Thankfully, we’ve only received good news and your mom is also doing well.
I have to tell you though; I never seem to be less anxious when going to these appointments.
When the nurse puts the magic wand on your mom’s belly that allows us to see you, I get so nervous. My guess is that it’s because this is my first time having a child and I want so badly for you to be a healthy and happy child. I assume other first time parents feel the same way.
I’ll probably have this same feeling up until you are born. Once I hear your first cry I’ll have a moment of relief… and then I’ll probably think to myself, “Oh my gosh. I have to take care of this little human!”
Love,
Dad
